Welcome! The following is a brief description of who I am, but feel free to look around or contact me to find out more.
I finished my undergraduate studies in 2007 and received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence from the
University of Toronto.
I obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence -
Computational Linguistics) in 2009, also at the University of Toronto. My supervisor was
Graeme Hirst.
After completing my graduate studies, I proceeded to teach an undergraduate engineering course called "
APS 101: Computer Programming" at the University of Toronto. You can visit the website
here.
I worked at
North Side Inc. in Montreal, Quebec, as a Researcher / Software Developer in the area of Dialogue Management and Generation. My main contribution was to the
Bot Colony video game.
I've also lived in Prague, Czech Republic, as I was taking a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate course at
The Language House.
Currently I'm pursuing a career in law. I've started my Juris Doctor degree at the
University of Western Ontario and will be completing my studies in 2014.
I was born in Russia, grew up in
Latvia, but I've lived in Toronto for the past 16 years. So I speak fluent English and Russian, and I've also studied French, Spanish, and German.
I've played tennis since I was young and I was the Assistant Coach of the University of Toronto's varsity
tennis team from 2006-2009. My other interests include philosophy, music, film, travel, photography, and fitness.
